Zoom Reading, A Degree From Nature

Lily was grateful to participate in a private reading over Zoom, organized by Aaron Sandler, of A Degree from Nature by Anna Michael, (the director of Whipped at Theatre for the New City, which Lily played the lead in.) A Degree From Nature questions the role of genetic biology in socio-cultural upbringing, specifically as it relates to non-hetero couples; and discusses the sexism, ethics, and levels of privilege around IVF and IUI. Lily read the role of Alice McDowell, best friend & later wife of the lead character, Meghan who is wrestling with the ethics of her career, and her emotions around her Syrian identity.
