Richard III, Shut In Shakespeare

What is King Edward in Shakespeare’s Richard III dying of? There are THREE different “Edwards” that are part of this play, and their distinctions are imperative!! … These are the things Shut In takes time with, and it brings me so much joy on Saturdays.

Anywho! We’ve kicked off Richard III, the most famous (??) of the history plays, and it’s taken us two weeks to get to Act 2. I worked on this one with Jenny Lipman at LAMDA, and have seen a couple productions of it, namely the 2018 production at The Abbey by DruidShakespeare of Galway, Ireland directed by Garry Hynes and starring Aaron Monaghan, which I thought was genius.
